The Illinois Statewide Transition Conference for transition-aged youth and young adults with disabilities, their family members and teachers, vocational professionals, caregivers, health care professionals, college students pursuing careers in special education, and community advocates will focus on best practices in promoting effective, person-centered transition planning that addresses all aspects of adult life for youth with disabilities.
The ICTW Symposium will focus on career development and transition to work for students with disabilities, with particular focus on students with extensive support needs. The symposium is designed for special education and rehabilitation professionals (e.g., practitioners, administrators, counselors, related services personnel) who are interested in supporting students to obtain competitive integrated employment. Through a variety of keynote and breakout sessions, participants will learn about current research, practice, and policy specific to preparing students for employment. Join us for this upcoming symposium and network with professionals across the state who are actively engaged in improving employment outcomes for students with disabilities who have extensive support needs.
Instructional sessions during the ICTW Symposium are eligible for professional development credit. Educators can earn up to 9.25 ISBE-approved Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and vocational professionals may earn up to 9.5 Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) continuing education units (CEUs).
