Looking for Job Coach Training Options?

Effective job coaching is essential to providing strong community work experiences for students with disabilities. Although school personnel are trained to work with students at school, they may lack specialized knowledge needed to provide students with paid and unpaid work experiences in the community.

Over the last 40 years, a body of knowledge has emerged for providers of supported and customized employment services that clarifies the skills job coaches need to conduct job development, job analysis, and job site training. This information has direct application for school personnel who provide community work experiences to youth with disabilities.

The ICTW created two documents to assist school personnel with understanding job coach training options available outside their school/program.
